What if you took the time to tell your story?
Sometimes we know names without knowing the stories that come with them.
We inherit traditions, values, wounds, silences, and beliefs without always knowing where they come from.
HÉRITAGE invites you to take the time to look at your family history, document it, and choose what you wish to pass on.
It's not a book you simply read.
It's a book you write.
HÉRITAGE is a manual to fill in. Take your time. Write down what you remember. Interview your parents, grandparents, and elders. Find photos. Ask the questions you've never asked.
Each filled page becomes a trace of your story.
A journey into the heart of your family history.
HÉRITAGE guides you step by step to explore what you know, rediscover what you've forgotten, and pass on what must not disappear.
- MY ROOTS — Your identity, your origins, your family history, and your family tree.
- MY LAST NAME & MY FIRST NAME — Their meaning, their origin, and what they represent for you and your descendants.
- THE WOMEN & MEN OF MY LINEAGE — Their names, their professions, their unions, their trials, their strengths, and the stories that marked the family.
- MY CULTURE & MY ORIGINS — Peoples, languages, food, traditions, and cultural specificities from both sides of the family.
- MY FAMILY'S HISTORY — The particularities of your lineage, the significant people, the traditions, and the objects passed down.
- OUR FINANCIAL HISTORY — The family's relationship with money: abundance, lack, successes, losses, and inherited beliefs.
- OUR MEDICAL & SPIRITUAL HISTORY — A family memory that helps preserve important information.
- IDENTIFY, RELEASE & TRANSMIT — Recurring patterns, what you choose to keep, what you wish to break, gratitude, forgiveness, and blessing for future generations.
Your story comes to life on the pages.

Because some stories disappear with those who carry them.
A photo can be kept. A name can be passed on. But a told story can disappear if no one takes the time to write it down.
HÉRITAGE was designed to preserve a living family memory: the people, places, traditions, stories, values, and experiences that helped build your family.
Today, you write. Tomorrow, someone else can read.
HÉRITAGE is for you if...
- You want to know your origins.
- You wish to preserve your family's history.
- You want to leave a trace for your children and grandchildren.
- You wish to pass on what you have received — and choose what you want to pass on in turn.
Don't necessarily fill it alone.
Call your grandmother. Interview your father. Ask your mother what you've never asked her. Talk to your uncles, aunts, cousins. Find photos. Bring up memories. Then write them down.
This book is passed on.
Once you have filled these pages, you can entrust them to the next generation. They can add their name, their voice, their memories, and continue the story.
A book today. A memory tomorrow. A legacy for generations to come.
About this book
This book was born from a deep conviction: we cannot transform what we refuse to look at. As a French-Congolese woman, I carried questions for a long time without knowing how to get answers. Orphaned of my father and the eldest in my family, I grew up in a blended family, between several realities, several legacies, and many silences.
As a Christian, it was after my baptism in 2012 that I embarked on a journey into the heart of my family history. A very long journey, sometimes uncomfortable, often overwhelming, but necessary. For how can we understand what we are experiencing today if we ignore what came before us? How can we break certain repetitive patterns, certain wounds or family dysfunctions if we never take the time to seek their origin?
Too many families live with secrets, unspoken truths, and wounds passed down from generation to generation. Too many people go through life without understanding the influences that weigh on their choices, their relationships, or their destiny.
Héritage is not a book to idealize the past. It is a tool to explore it honestly. This manual will help you retrace your family history, highlight what deserves to be preserved, but also identify what needs to be healed, restored, or interrupted. Because knowing one's history is not an end in itself: it is the starting point of transformation.
My desire is for this book to contribute to restoring families, to freeing speech on subjects long considered taboo, and to allow everyone to build a healthier legacy for future generations. For we are not condemned to repeat what we have received: we have the power to choose what we will transmit.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dorelia Ngomba
Dorelia Ngomba is a French-Congolese author and social entrepreneur. She is the founder of EDEN, an international solidarity organization that has been working since 2018 to restore dignity through education, acts of compassion, and social development between France and Africa.
In parallel with her commitment, she is a consultant in communication and project development. She supports organizations, entrepreneurs, and impact initiatives in their strategy, visibility, and growth.
Her writing is a natural extension of her commitment. It is nourished by years spent listening to the stories of others, accompanying people facing adversity, and witnessing the extraordinary resilience of the human being.
She believes that all lasting healing begins within oneself and that, when we learn to look at ourselves with compassion, we become more capable of bringing hope, dignity, and love to others.
